These are some of the key moments in the world of sports during the month of February 2019


Sri Lanka in South AfricaThe tour of South Africa was followed by the tour to Australia in which Sri Lanka lost all the matches they played. The first test of the African tour was played at Durban and Sri Lankans, with one of the greatest innings ever played by Kusal Perera, managed to win the first test match by one wicket. From there on, the confident Sri Lankans trounced the Proteas in the second test match at Port Elizabeth to become the first Asian team to win a test series in South Africa. The test series is followed by 5 ODIs and 3 T20s.


Man City leading in Premier LeagueAfter a topsy turvy month, Manchester City are back at the top of the premier league after Liverpool drew 4 in 6 matches they played. Man City are currently leading with 71 points while Liverpool are behind with 70 points. The race is getting closer and closer and fans of the both teams would be hoping that their team will win the title this season. 


Barcelona still the top team in SpainBarcelona are maintaining their grip on top of LaLiga table as they finished February with 60 points while second placed Atletico Madrid remains with 53 points. Barcelona beat their eternal rivals Real Madrid on 2nd March for their 5th consecutive Classico win at the Santiago Bernebeu. Real Madrid remains in 3rd place with 48 points and the chance of winning the league this season has long gone for them. 


Super Bowl LIIISuper Bowl LIII was held between the three-time defending American Football Conference (AFC) champions New England Patriots and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Los Angeles Rams, to determine the champion of the National Football League (NFL) on 3rd February 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia. The Patriots defeated the Rams by the score of 13–3, tying the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl championships with six.  The halftime show was headlined by U.S. pop group Maroon 5, joined by rappers Big Boi and Travis Scott as guests.
