Manchester City wins the Premier LeagueManchester City won the English Premier League in a thrilling manner after edging Liverpool by 1 point on the last day of the league. Citizens had to win the last match of their season in order to overtake Liverpool and they did so in a thrilling fashion by beating Brighton 4-1 to take their points tally to 98. This is their 2nd consecutive premier league title and the team will be looking for their 3rd consecutive title when the new season begins. Meanwhile Liverpool’s wait for the premier league title continues and they will be extra motivated to win their 1st title in 30 years under Jurgen Klopp.


Barcelona wins La LigaBarcelona won their 2nd consecutive league title under Ernesto Valverde. Lionel Messi was once again instrumental in carrying Barcelona for their 2nd consecutive title. However, their happiness was short-lived as they lost to Liverpool in their Champions League Semi Final. Barcelona will not be happy with just the league title under their name as their main target of the season was to win the Champions League. Atletico Madrid came in second after Barcelona and Real Madrid finished their disappointing in 3rd place.


Cricket World Cup For Cricket loving fans month of June will be huge as the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup will be starting from 30th May. The finals will be taking place on 14th July and fans will be hoping to watch some exciting cricket matches. As for Sri Lanka, fans will be hoping to see some good cricket from the Team. Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne will bring stability to the batting line up and the fans will be hoping for better batting performances than the last tournaments they played. Favourites England opened the tournament against South Africa on 30th May. 

French Open 2019The second Grand Slam of the year started from 26th May. Rafael Nadal, the eternal favourite for the tournament will be looking to win his 12th title at Roland Garros and warmed upto the event by winning Rome Masters event. World No 1 Novak Djokovic will be trying win his 4th consecutive Grand Slam to complete the “Novak Slam” for the second time in his career. Roger Federer is playing his first French Open after taking hiatus from the tournament since 2015. He will be looking to win his 2nd title.

Champions League Final

Champions League final took place on 01st of June at Madrid. The finals was played by Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool reached the final in a thrilling come back from behind win against favourites Bracelona. Barcelona were leading 3-0 after the first leg and Liverpool putting on an impressive performance scored 4 goals at Anfield to reach the Finals. Tottenahm Hotspurs ended the fairy tale run of an impressive Ajax team to reach the finals. Liverpool with their impressive front three of Salah, Mane and Firmino wer the favourites to win the title for sixth time in their historywhich they did beating the Spurs 2-0, clinching the victory.
