AIESEC is a global, youth-led organization that strives to achieve PEACE and FULFILMENT OF HUMANKIND’S POTENTIAL by engaging and developing every young person in the world with our unique Leadership Development Model. We develop the leadership potential of youth through Team Experiences and Global Internships.

In Sri Lanka we have an active membership of more than 1000 university students including students from both public and private universities, and AIESEC in University of Kelaniya is one of the oldest and prestigious entities among them.

AIESEC is honoured to be entrusted by multinational organizations to help them gain access to youth opinion, approach top-talents for future recruitment, strengthen their image among youth and position themselves as socially responsible businesses by investing in youth leadership development. Thus we have partnerships with companies and organisations from different sectors and industries which support us to deliver quality leadership experiences.

The Leadership Development Seminar (LDS) is the largest conference conducted by AIESEC in University of Kelaniya and therefore is a major event in our year calendar. The conference is organized for the 5th consecutive time this year encouraged from the success of past conferences. AIESEC believes that leadership is the fundamental solution to pressing global issues and the key to building a better world. Hence events such as this acts as the best platform to develop soft skills and to expand the understanding of leadership development among young undergraduates.

LDS 2020 is different and special from previous conferences as it will take place Semi-virtually. Therefore it will be a new kind of an experience and opportunity for our people to explore new avenues with the advancement of technology. Organized with the theme of Avatar, with the aim of emphasising the importance of youth leadership and initiative, the conference will take place for 2 days.
