English Premier LeagueWith 10 matches completed, last season’s champions Manchester City are currently sitting at top of the premier league table on goal difference. It looks like a three way battle for the premier league title as Liverpool and Chelsea are also unbeaten until now. Jose Mourniho’s Manchester United is struggling for performances this season and the manager is facing criticism from fans and pundits alike for United’s dismal performances. It is being an intriguing season so far and it is hard to predict the champion of the season

La Liga

The much awaited Classico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid played on 28th October with a global viewing of over 1 Bn people. Bracelona humiliated Real Madrid with a 5-1 drubbing with 3 goals being scored by star striker Luis Suarez. It is the first clasico between the two teams after Cristiano Ronaldo’s trasnfer from Real Madrid to Juventus. Lionel Messi was also sidelined from the match as he was carrying an injury. Barcelona is sitting top of the La Liga table after the result and Real Madrid’s coach was sacked on Monday after the shocking performance. 

England in Sri LankaSri Lanka Cricket fans had to suffer another disappointment of their cricket team as they suffered another series lost against the visiting England team. Sri Lankans lost the series with a 3-1 margin with the Lankan lions earning a consolation win against England team in the last game of the series. With only short period to go for the World Cup Sri Lankans are trying to find solutions for their dismal performances.  Sri Lankans also lost the one off T20 game and it will be followed by a 3 test macth series. First test match in Galle will be Ranagna Herath’s last game for the team and the Lankan spin legend has been a great servant for Sri Lankan cricket during the last decade or so.

Formula 1Lewis Hamilton clinched the Formula 1 world championship after finishing 4th during the Mexican grand prix. It has been another successful season for the reigning champion and he was closely challenged by his rival Sebastian Vettel. The champion started the year in a difficult manner as he was struggling for form. However, the luck favoured the champion during the Azerbaijan GP and from there on he was hardly troubled. Lewis Hamilton is now a four time champion of the F1 world championship and he drew level with Sebastian Vettel for titles won (4) after his latest championship win. Legendary Michael Schumacher is still leading with 7 F1 titles.
