What to Expect at Lanka Comic Con 2019

What to Expect at Lanka Comic Con 2019

Lanka Comic Con is just around the corner, and as usual, there’s a host of activities to do and lots of souvenirs to buy. Confused as to what to expect this year? Let’s take a look at the roster of events this year.

Dungeons and Dragons

A very dedicated corner of LCC, the local Dungeons and Dragons players will be building up a very elaborate story for you to follow, and even join in if you want! The cool part about dungeons and dragons is that you can be whoever you want to be, but in a realistic way, which means you can be a superpowered dragon, but if someone decides to teleport you into the north pole, well, there is a dungeons part in the title.

NERF Gun Shooting Range Perfect for shooting the stress right out of your system, the NERF gun shooting range lets you fire away all your worries, and you can imagine anyone you want as the target. Let’s call it a legal way to almost shoot down your enemies.

Bouncy Castle & Bouncy Slide One of the most popular hits from last year! Who says you can’t be a kid at heart? LCCs bouncy castle and slides are big enough for the adults to go join the kids in just bouncing around happily. From what we saw last year, we can expect to see a line of geeky enthusiasts!

Live Action Role Play (LARP) Like D&D, you can be who you want in LARP. But in this case, literally. It also means if you pick an unwise fight, you’ll have other people fighting you, also literally. Foam swords and shields make it a safe experience, but we have seen too many good fights to pretend that it’s all hearts and rainbows. Beware when you’re on the LARP field, the bard might start his horrible singing at any time!

Table Top Card Games From Uno to Saboteur to Pokemon TCG, there’s a host of tabletop card games running every year. Take a break from the hectic mess of LCC to sit in a corner and decimate your opponent with a good card play. You also get good bragging rights if you win!

CosplayAside from all the activities, don’t forget to take a few pictures with your favorite cosplayers this year! There’s bound to be many! For the cosplayers themselves, good news! Aside from the two ramp walks in the evenings, there will also be a cosplay competition held by the rotaract club of Colombo, so bring your A game!

There are also various panels and screenings scattered throughout the two days if you’re looking to be educated on the following topics:
