BeLeaf – RAC PanColombo

“Plant A Tree and plant Hope for the future”

Project BeLeaf is a Proud joint initiative with Rotaract Clubs of PanColombo, Chunnakam, Kandy, Trincomalee, Dhaka Paragon India and JKUT Kenya. Our Main goal was to plant as many as trees possible, given the current situation with viruses Spreading around, global warming and climate change posing very significant threats to our world and all of its occupants. it is high time we make a decision to change things and be responsible for our actions, and we believed to make a difference to the future generation through project BeLeaf.

Deforestation is a significant contributor to the current climate change situation. It has not only caused many natural disasters, but it has also resulted in the extreme decline and disappearance of many flora and fauna species. With Project BeLeaf we were able to plant more than 350+ Plants regionally and across borders.
Rotaract Club of PanColombo together with the Thuru Organization had planted 155 trees at Kalutara Police Park on 21st of April, the Policemen were humble enough to welcome us with gratitude and helped us all the way through the plantation process as a club we are honoured to complete the project with them.
On 22nd of April Rotaract Club of Trincomalee planted 25 plants at Kannita Methodist Nursery in Trincomalee, it was not merely a plantation yet another beautiful event where our Rotaracters got together with pre-school kids and teachers and taught them the value of trees and how they should take care of trees by watering and maintain them daily. It is important to learn the significance importance of nature because they are the future generation as Rotaracters we feel proud to accomplish that goal to the kids at Kannita Methodist Nursery.

Our North friends in Rotaract Club of Chunnakam had also planted 25 trees at Thiyddiy G.S. Office in Jaffna where they got together with few officers and had a nice time and chat while planting
Project BeLeaf had only one intention which is to plant as many as trees possible even beyond boarders, hence we partnered with Rotaract Club of JKUT friends and they planted 100 trees at JoyToen Secondary school in Thika Kenya
Due to the prevailing situation globally two of our Partnered clubs couldn’t plant at their ideal location but that didn’t stop them from completing the project, Rotaract Club of Kandy Planted at an estate of their fellow member’s and Rotaract Club of Dhaka Paragon India Planted trees at their own houses.
Trees are rightfully known as the lungs of earth and we believe as Rotaracters we tried our best to protect our earth for the future generation. Furthermore we have conducted an PR awareness campaign to let everyone knows the importance of tree planting.
